Where are you from?
Its typical in our society to ask new aquantinces the question “where are you from?” Its a simple question, yet I do not have an answer. Every day I may say something different. Am I an Atlantan? Or am I on extended vacation from west chester, PA? The answer is I do not know. Next time I get asked this question I should answer:
I was born in Albany, New York. I have lived in Versailles, France, West Chester, Pennsylvania, and Atlanta, Georgia for extended periods of time. None of these places is more or less important than the other. Oh and when I go “home” for Christmas I’ll be going to Narbeth, Pennslyvania a place I have never been. In short I am a Verschestatlanbethian! We are a strong and proud people!
